Privacy Policy
365 Pause is built around something personal: how you're feeling today. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it. We don't sell your data and we don't run ads.
1. Who we are
365 Pause is operated by UofHappy LLC, a limited liability company formed in the United States. We are the controller of the personal data described here. This policy covers the 365 Pause app and the website at 365pause.app.
365 Pause was previously published as Zero Meditation; this policy replaces the one published under that name.
2. What we collect
| Data | What it is | Why we have it |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your email address and a securely hashed password. A display name if you set one. | To create your account, sign you in, and contact you about the service. |
| Check-ins | The moods you tap and anything you type about how you feel, plus the length and ambient sound you pick. | This is the prompt your meditation is written from. It's the core of the product. |
| Practice history | The meditations generated for you, when you listened, how long, and any notes you write afterwards. | To show your history, year view, streaks, and insights, and to let you replay a past pause. |
| Settings | Reminder time and days, chosen voice, time zone, dark mode. | To send the daily reminder you asked for and keep the app set up the way you like. |
| Subscription status | Whether you have an active subscription, and the receipt identifiers Apple or Google give us. | To unlock paid features and validate purchases. We never see your card details. |
| Device & usage | Device type and OS version, app version, IP address, crash and error diagnostics, and aggregate analytics events (for example: a pause was started or finished). | To keep the app working, fix crashes, and understand which features are actually used. |
| Support messages | What you send us by email, and our replies. | To answer you and keep a record of the issue. |
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or health-app data, and the app does not ask for those permissions. We don't use advertising trackers.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service — generating meditations, storing your history, sending the reminders you set up. (Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.)
- To keep it working and safe — diagnosing crashes, preventing abuse, enforcing usage limits. (Legitimate interests.)
- To improve the product — understanding in aggregate which lengths and moods people actually use. (Legitimate interests.)
- To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting, and responding to lawful requests.
We do not use your check-in text or notes for advertising, we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. How your check-ins reach the AI
To write your meditation, we send the relevant part of your check-in — your mood and what you typed, along with the length you chose — to AI providers who generate the script and the narration audio on our behalf. We send the minimum needed for that, and we do not send your email address or name with it.
These providers act as our processors under their API terms and do not use content sent through their APIs to train their models. Generated audio is stored on our infrastructure so you can replay it.
5. Who else processes it
We work with a small number of service providers. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job:
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| OpenAI, Google (Gemini) | Generate the meditation script from your check-in. |
| Microsoft Azure, Google (text-to-speech) | Turn the script into the narrated audio you hear. |
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting, audio storage and delivery, and processing. |
| Google Firebase | App analytics and sign-in support. |
| Postmark | Sends transactional email such as password resets. |
| Apple, Google Play | Process subscription payments and tell us whether a subscription is active. |
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition — in which case we'd tell you before your data moved to a new controller.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and practice history — for as long as your account exists. Your year view only means something if we keep it.
- Deleted accounts — removed from our live systems promptly, and from routine backups within 30 days.
- Diagnostics and analytics — typically up to 14 months, in aggregate form.
- Billing and tax records — as long as the law requires, usually seven years.
- Support email — up to two years after the conversation ends.
7. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct anything inaccurate;
- Delete your account and its data;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Stop sending you non-essential email.
Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
If you're in the EEA or UK: you also have the right to data portability and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're in California: you have the rights to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings, and analytics collection in the app's settings.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and everything in it from within the app, or from 365pause.app/delete. This removes your check-ins, generated meditations, notes, and history. It can't be undone, and it doesn't cancel a subscription — cancel that in your Apple ID or Google Play settings.
9. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text, and access to production systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but if a breach affects your data, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
10. Children
365 Pause is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.
11. International transfers
We're based in the United States and our servers and providers are primarily located there. If you use 365 Pause from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard for those transfers.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
Questions, requests, or concerns: [email protected].
